As I reflect on my tenure of over five decades as the Founder Chairman, I am filled with gratitude and pride. Your confidence and support have been instrumental in our journey and together we have achieved remarkable milestones. It is with a mix of nostalgia and excitement that I pass the baton to the next generation of leadership.
In 1972, amidst socio-political unrest in Kolkata, Shri Basant Lall Shaw made the decision to move to Nagpur, wherein he established the first foundry. Focused on municipal and railways castings, he strategically leveraged the central location to build a robust distribution network across India, thereby laying the foundation for the Company’s growth.
Guided by ambition, Shri Basant Lall Shaw recognized the need to diversify in order to expand. In 1996, he established a state-of-art Steel Plant at Siltara, Raipur and subsequently he added iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh which made the Steel Plant as an Integrated Steel Plant.
This transformative leap into the steel industry not only allowed the Company to meet the growing industrial demands of the nation but also opened doors to international markets.
Shri Basant Lall Shaw believed in holistic development, an idea that continues to guide the Company. His commitment to excellence was not limited to operational efficiency and product quality but extended to a myriad of philanthropic endeavors, spanning education, healthcare, and rural development.
In 2023, Shri Basant Lall Shaw transitioned to the role of Chairman Emeritus, entrusting leadership to the next generation. His sons, Shri Arvind Jayaswal and Shri Ramesh Jayaswal, assumed the roles of Chairman and Managing Director, respectively. This transition ushered in a new era of growth—one that blends energy and ambition with the wisdom inherited from Shri Basant Lall Shaw.
